Poor nutrition, excessive alcohol intake, and abuse of cigarettes, marijuana, and other drugs can harm fertility and the ability to have children. In addition, poor eating habits such as excessive weight gain or calorie restriction can decrease a person's ability to have children- as well as his likelihood of becoming obese or developing diabetes.

1. Eggs



Eggs are high in protein and low in fat. Egg yolk contains vitamins A, D, E, B12, choline, biotin, iron, zinc, copper, selenium, iodine, and folic acid. Best for reproductive health.

2. Salmon



Salmon is high in omega-3 fatty acids, which help reduce inflammation and improve sexual health.


3. Chicken



Chicken is high in protein and relatively low in fat. Dark meat chicken is higher in protein than white meat chicken. Chicken is also high in iron and zinc.


4. Turkey



Turkey is high in protein and moderates in fat. Turkey breast is higher in protein than dark turkey meat. Turkey is also high in iron.


5. Tofu



Tofu is high in protein and very low in fat. Tofu is also high in calcium, iron, and zinc.


6. Beans



Beans are high in fiber and protein. Black beans are higher in protein than pinto beans. Beans are also high in folate, iron, and zinc, and are good for heart, and reproductive health.

1. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are high in antioxidants, which help keep your body free from harmful chemicals. These nutrients also help increase fertility by providing important vitamins and minerals to your body.

2. Avoid processed foods. Processed foods are full of empty calories and unhealthy additives that can hurt your fertility. Make sure to fill up on nutrient-rich whole foods instead.

3. Avoid smoking and excessive drinking. Smoking can reduce the fertility of men and women, while excessive drinking can damage the womb and lead to miscarriage.
